About the program

Singleton's innovative Emergency Services Internship Program is designed to introduce young locals to the exciting world of emergency management and provide essential emergency skills.

Anyone aged 16-24 years and living in the Singleton Local Government Area can participate.

Program participants will attend a four-hour session every Wednesday evening for eight weeks from 15 October to 3 December 2025. Dinner will be provided during each session throughout the program.

During the eight weeks, participants will learn about emergency response, preparedness and recovery through practical, hands-on training with agencies such as NSW Police, Rural Fire Service (RFS), State Emergency Service (SES), Fire and Rescue NSW, and NSW Ambulance.

They will also complete their First Aid Certificate and receive mental health first aid training.

Funded by the NSW Office of Local Government, this program is delivered by Singleton Council in proud partnership with local emergency services and Singleton PCYC.
